Mission statement:
The mission of We Believe in Human Artists is to connect, support, and celebrate artists, with a focus on emerging musicians in Chicago.
Letter from the editor:
Preserving human-made music.
Music has the power to soothe. To evoke emotion. To connect a listener to the broader human experience. When we hear lyrics, rhythms or instrumentals that resonates deeply with us, we feel a profound nexus with the tune’s maker. One might even say…we feel in harmony with them.
At We Believe in Human Artists, we know that nothing will ever replace the value of human creativity. With this in mind, we created this digital publication to highlight the humanity of the people who create the scores to our lives, as well as to support them in their personal and professional journeys. We aim to celebrate human creativity and connection, and honor artists for their lives beyond their craft. We also wish to spark critical conversations about the challenges that emerging and independent artists face, including those posed by artificial intelligence, industry consolidation and bad actors within the industry.
We Believe in Human Artists strives to feature a diverse variety of genres and artists. We are currently focused on artists based or performing regularly in the Chicago area.
